Getting to the GRAND STRAND
(Myrtle Beach, etc.) from I-20: First of all, you do NOT want to drive a rig — even a small one — through Florence. That means that, at exit 141 (the official end of I-20) you head north on I-95 to exit 170 (SC-327). Head 5.2 miles south on 327 to US-76 (yes, the same 76 that is the 'main drag' through Florence). Turn left and follow US-76 about 16.5 miles to the junction of US-501 in Marion. Turn right onto US-501 and follow it (yes, you frequently have very heavy traffic but there just is no better way) for about 44 miles to the junction of US-17 in Myrtle Beach. (see our map for more information on Myrtle Beach, et al.) |
